Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I’m the maker of Hotel POS. Here's the story behind it:
I built this after watching small hotel and shop owners struggle with billing. They either pay heavy monthly fees for cloud-based POS systems, or use pen & paper. The worst part? When the internet goes down, their cloud POS stops working entirely.
So I built a desktop alternative:
❌ No internet needed
❌ No cloud servers (your data stays 100% private on your PC)
✅ Completely free and open-source
👉 **How to try it right now:**
1. Watch the short demo video attached above to see it in action!
2. If you're a dev, grab the source code from GitHub.
3. Run `npm install` and then `npm start` to launch it locally.
*(Note: I’m currently working on a 1-click .exe installer so non-technical users can just download and install it without needing Node.js. Coming very soon!)*
I’d love to hear your feedback. Have you ever faced issues with cloud POS systems going offline? Let me know below! 👇

💡 Bright idea
this is genuinely useful for small hotels that deal with patchy wifi honestly one thing that would make it way better is a built-in backup to usb or sd card so you can save your daily sales somewhere offline just in case the pc ever dies on you

💎 Pixel perfection
running it offline on my laptop was a nice surprise, no lag or setup headaches, and the receipt print is super quick.
Offline billing that just works without a flaky wifi connection is such a relief for small hotel setups. The clean dashboard makes it feel lighter than most POS tools I have poked at.
