Paste a script and read it at the lens: the prompter follows your voice. Fluff a line? One key retakes that sentence. When you stop, every paragraph has its cleanest take, matched to your script, and you export an MP4 with captions. On-device, no account.

Hi Product Hunt. I'm Laurynas, one of the two people behind honmay (we also make nokko).
honmay started with my own talking-head videos: recording took ten minutes and cutting the stumbles and restarts took an hour. The editor was always guessing what I meant to say, while the prompter already knew, because I had pasted the script into it.
So honmay is a teleprompter for Mac that treats the script as the source of truth:
• The prompter sits right under the camera and follows your voice. Go off script and it holds instead of racing ahead.
• ⌘⇧R retakes from the start of the sentence you're in. No take is ever thrown away.
• When you stop, every take is checked against the script. Each paragraph keeps the take that says it best, cut in the pauses between words, and the app shows its reason in your script's own words ("skipped 7 words: …"). Press 1–9 to choose another.
• Export a finished MP4 with captions spelled the way you wrote them, plus an SRT. Write two hooks and two calls to action into the script and you get four videos; import a list of names and you get a personal opener per person.
It's for people who script, then speak: founders, consultants, course creators, UGC creators on a Mac. It's not for unscripted vlogs or podcasts.
Limits, in the open: macOS 26 or later; the 45 languages Apple's on-device engine supports. iOS app is on its way :)
