Beware of the fact that everything you browse will be uploaded to their proprietary cloud infrastructure UNENCRYPTED with HTTP. Yes, I intercepted the traffic and found out the extension uploads the data over HTTP.
@birkhofflee Hi Birkhoff, thanks for reaching out. Just to clarify, History Search only indexes pages on domains that aren't blacklisted. Blacklisted pages are entirely ignored.
In regards to security, History Search does everything via HTTPS and all traffic is encrypted. What you mention is therefore not possible. You might be interested in checking out historysearch.com/security.
If you have any worries, please email us directly at support@convergate.com and we'll be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
@convergate@birkhofflee Hi Birkhoff, thanks for sharing this, are you manually making a http request via Postman?
In terms of our API; HTTP is available, but our web service and extensions are configured to use HTTPS:

If you could follow up with me directly via email this would make it easier to follow up since we normally don't actively monitor Product Hunt comments.
Kind regards,

Over the past year I’ve seen History Search develop very quickly. I know Martijn and he’s very motivated to make this services the best it can possibly be.
Pros:
History Search often works better than searching services themselves because all the content in History Search is relevant to me alone.
Cons:
There’s not mobile app yet, but as I’ve heard a mobile responsive web search is on its way.

It's a great way to keep a track of all your history on all your devices. One in all, a great product to never lose that notorious tab that keeps getting lost.
@virinder_singh 🙌 I'm very glad you like History search 💫 We've worked hard to get it here and will keep improving it the best we can. Any suggestions of features you would like added?

I have been using history search for a couple of weeks now! It seems like a simple search tool in the beginning but it is really quite a powerful search tool. It saves a lot of effort and time especially when you end up searching for the same things again and again, by letting you search through the web pages relevant to you.
It specifically helps me with:
1. Checking relevant solutions that I have found useful before for same coding error messages.
2. Really helpful for finding content for research for uni projects.
Keep up the good work! :)
@tisha_m Hey Tisha!! I'm very glad to hear that 💫. This is was exactly our goal while working on History Search. Thank you for sharing you use-cases😻, please keep sharing them with me in the future—it would very helpful for use while implementing new ideas.

I am fully with my head in sales and being able to quickly recall (gmails, web pages or docs) of prospects is very convenient.
I'm using it since early beta and now my habits of browsing are different - I don't need anymore to leave many tabs open. I know that I can always find it via History Search plugin in all 3 browsers without thinking where exactly I've read it last time!
All i can say about this program is that it currently holds 100% of my research for both my work and my school and I hope to god it doesn't go down one day. I use it nearly hourly in my work and it has the great big advantage that i dont really have to remember what pages I've visited weeks ago that had that little fix that i needed. All I can say is 10/10 can recommend.
PS. srly the one time it went down for 20 minutes I just sat there twiddeling my thumbs, I have an addiction.
