HeyDo started as a hobby project built around a simple idea: reminders can be social. Instead of keeping reminders only for yourself, send them directly to friends and family. Remind someone to call, pick something up, attend an appointment, or complete a task. Send instantly or schedule for later. Recipients can acknowledge and complete reminders, while checklists and discussions keep everything together and away from busy chat conversations.

Hi, HeyDo started as a hobby project around a simple problem I noticed in everyday life. Small but important requests between friends and family can easily get lost in chat conversations. We often send messages like “don’t forget to bring this,” “please pick this up on your way home,” or “can you do this tomorrow?” A few messages later, that request is buried in the conversation and sometimes forgotten. That’s where the idea for HeyDo came from. Rather than building another messaging app, I wanted to give these reminders and requests their own place. With HeyDo, you can send a reminder directly to a friend or family member, send it immediately or schedule it for later, and see when it has been acknowledged or completed. Reminders can also include checklists and their own discussion, so everything related to that request stays together. This is the first release of HeyDo, and I’ve intentionally kept the initial experience simple and focused. I already have more ideas and improvements in mind, but I also want future versions to be shaped by how people actually use the app and what they find useful. I’d really like to hear what you think. What everyday reminders would you send to friends or family?

HeyDo launches tomorrow, and I wanted to ask a simple question before the launch.

A lot of small requests between friends and family happen through chat, pick up groceries, remember an appointment, bring something on the way home, make a call, or get something ready for the weekend.

These messages can easily get buried in a conversation, which is one of the reasons I started working on HeyDo.

HeyDo gives these requests their own place. You can send a reminder to someone immediately or schedule it for later, and the recipient can acknowledge and complete it.
