Earlier this year the leading app in this category suffered a breach exposing over 600,000 users' journal entries, behavioral data, and private confessions. For an app asking people to be vulnerable about their habits, that was an inexcusable failure. Hexys seeks to be the answer to that and provide users with a safe alternative. Zero-knowledge AES-256-GCM encryption means we are structurally incapable of reading your data even if we wanted to. The bigger vision is a modular platform for compulsive digital habits. I had been building Hexys before that happened, but when the breach came out it crystallized something I already believed: in a category where people share their most vulnerable moments, privacy needs to be more than just a promise - It has to be the architecture.
