I built the first version of Hereditas about one year ago, and recently released version 0.2. The idea for Hereditas comes from realizing how much of our life is now stored digitally, and protected by passwords. What would happen if I were to disappear suddenly? How can I give access to my photos, my social media accounts, my inboxes, etc, to my family? If I had cryptocurrency wallets, how could I share them safely? Or, simply, how could I leave a message to them? Hereditas works by generating a static site that requires no maintenance after being deployed (so you don't need to be updating it for the rest of your life - literally). Hereditas boxes are fully-trustless because they're encrypted (with AES-256-GCM) and no other person or company has standing access to your data. To authenticate, users need to use both an account (e.g. a Google Account or another kind) and a passphrase that you share in advance. Additionally, users don't get immediate access to your box: on the first login, they start a timer and you get a warning notification. This gives you enough time to stop them from accessing your box if you are still around. Hereditas is an open source project I created on my spare time. It's available for free on GitHub. I welcome contributions and audits. PS: The video is showing version 0.1; the UI was improved in 0.2, as per the screenshot!
