Hey Product Hunt 👋 Not long ago, I wrote most of the code myself. After claude code and codex were released I started to feel completely lost in my own codebase. Before the AI era, when something was unfamiliar, I could usually trace it back to the decisions I had made. AI coding and coding agents makes me feel like I'm not in control and I don't know the structure of the code or the architecture anymore, so I built Heimdall in order to solve this problem. Heimdall doesn't use LLMs or coding agents to analyze your code. There are no AI models involved in the code analysis, no tokens, and no code sent to the cloud. Everything runs locally on your machine, completely offline and 100% private. Your source code stays where it belongs: with you. Now I can ask an AI agent to build something in minutes. That's incredibly powerful, but there's a trade-off. The more code the agent writes, the harder it becomes to keep a mental model of the system. Heimdall analyzes your codebase locally and turns it into an interactive architecture map you can easily navigate and study. You can start from any file or type into your program or pick the file you like from the file system. Heimdall will map the types so you can navigate your software based on your needs or the types you need to check. I think AI is changing not only how we write software, but also how we need to understand software. That's really why I built this. I'd love to hear from other developers.
