Hi Product Hunt 👋 Made this because I was tired of every HEIC converter trying to squeeze money out of something that should just work. Upload your photo, wait around, hope it's not paywalled, hope they actually delete your file afterward. All for converting a photo format. heic-to.app does the whole thing in your browser with WebAssembly (libheif). No upload, no account, no catch. Your photos never leave your device, and it's free because converting a file shouldn't cost anyone anything. Also had to fix a real headache along the way: a lot of converters (including one I first tried) just fail on photos from newer iPhones with a "format not supported" error. Switched to decoding directly with a current libheif-js build and that's sorted now. Would love your feedback, especially if you hit a HEIC file that doesn't convert right. That's the thing I most want to keep improving.
