Great idea! I'd love to know how they've overcome accidental activation. I'm also excited about other potential applications like interactive signage, sensory rooms and therapy. The list is endless.
@simoncchapman thank you for loving it. For accidental activation, best would be placing the virtual remote controls on side tables, behind you and maybe even in the air is a good idea. You're right, the list is endless. 🙌🏻 what are you thinking? We would love to know!

@simoncchapman Had the opportunity to test/play with the thing yesterday... it's just amazingly powerful and playful. I felt that algos are super good at detecting false/accidental interactions.
Man. I love this.
Seems like it would be buggy at first. Ie what happens when you have kids and they are running and playing all over the place.
I can only imagine the tv being turned off and on.
Does this work solely off "hit detection"? Can you track people like past Kinect prototypes and maybe only toggle if it detects an adult? Just thinking out loud here.
Still quite amazing. Good job.
@xcast3d Thank you for loving it. Yes, kids and pets running around will trigger the virtual remote controls but you can place them where they can't reach them.
If by "hit detection" you mean just coming into contact with it, yes. We are working on adult, pets and children differentiations. It will come soon. We will keep you posted.
Thank you for loving it and for supporting us.

What happens if you are trying to move something it seems like it would activate... For instance if I placed a button on my couch and if I sat on the couch would it come on? Or is it a combination of gesture and location
@joash_johnson Hayo's virtual buttons would be triggered if you pass through them. We suggest putting the buttons on or above the arm rests of your couch, for example you just have to raise your hand when you are sitting on the couch.
You can also use this as a feature and place a button on the couch to dim the light when you are sitting on the couch for instance.

@jehankanwal I am not sure... I would love to see this in action as this could be brilliant or a recipe for disaster. Especially with the whole concept of passing through something.
@joash_johnson I agree, you have to try it out for yourself. :)

This is super cool. Do you tie specific gestures to specific outcomes? That might take care of accidental triggers.
Also, why isn't any one talking about the potential of creating your own haunted house prank? You guys should pitch that during Halloween 😁
@bhas Indeed, we love it! For this first version we want to keep the user experience as simple as possible, we think that gestures are great but that they are a bit too advanced for the users right now. Gestures will come later, but we want people to get used to this new kind of interaction beforehand in order to prevent people from getting frustrated.
A Hayo featured haunted house would indeed be a terrifying thing but we have a cool video we made with kids at halloween. Check it out:
@paulodef So happy you LOVE this Paul! The only limitation is the field of view of the sensor, you can place as many virtual buttons as you want in this field of view. Concerning the kind of virtual buttons you will find in this first version 3 kind of buttons: simple triggers in the shape of a sphere, sliders/dimmers in the shape of a cylinder and barriers in the shape of a plan.

Really awesome 😄 you think it would be possible to view the virtual triggers using HoloLens? The room scanning looks similar to what HoloLens does to place holograms.
@willyyr Thanks Willy! We do not plan on giving access to the data containing the scan of the room. But we could have a partnership with HoloLens in the future.

Im thinking some stickers on the walls instead of switches for guests, but this is going to make my world even more magic. Applications outside the home environment are particularly interesting. Interfacing this + rpi + telescope. Oh yea!
Question: What is the low light sensitivity like on this in say a .01 lux? It looks like it has a scanning IR sensor?
