Over the course of a few days, I built HangOut, a web application that helps kids plan hangouts with their friends while giving parents a simple way to approve them. Instead of relying on multiple group chats and text messages, everything is organized in one place where both kids and parents know exactly what's going on.

One thing that would help a lot is a shared calendar view where kids can see all their upcoming hangouts in one place, sorted by date. My daughter constantly forgets which weekend her friend is coming over, and a simple color-coded schedule would make it way easier for her to keep track without having to dig through the chat.
