Very excited to launch on ProductHunt today!
I challenged myself to build an MVP in 24 hours, and so HairstyleAI was born! The app was well received & made sales on the first day of launch 🥳 - despite being very barebones & mostly manual.
The last few weeks have been a real rollercoaster, as I had to build out the app, improve the AI model, implement different styles, handle customers support - at the same time as orders kept coming in 😁
Fast forward to today, HairstyleAI now offers 35 hairstyles & colours, improved render quality and is now a fully fledged web app 🤯🚀
Why hairstyles?
I built this app because I thought this would be a cool use-case for AI technology! 🤖😁
No need to go to the hairdresser, you can try out some hairstyles with AI - from the comfort of your own home 😉
Will this style look good on me? How will I look bald? Take the guesswork out of your next makeover and try it out with AI! Also, you can now try on a short haircut without the risk of actually cutting your hair off 🤭💇♀️
How does it work?
You sign up and upload a few headshots of yourself to the app. Our AI starts training on your facial features. After learning is completed, it will generate 140 renders spanning 35 different hairstyles & colours for you 👧👦
Do note, the AI technology is still new & experimental, so results may vary. I’m keen to hear your feedback on how I can make this the best product possible, so let me know! 😊

First of all, let me just say that I am thoroughly impressed with this AI hairstyle generator. It is truly a game changer for us balding males out there. No longer do we have to sit around and wonder what we would look like with a full head of hair - this AI has got us covered.
Tired of being called out by my friends asking how old I really am, I started to develop some serious concerns if my wife would ever look at me the same a few years from now. Thankfully, there's hairstyle AI for men who fall in my exact shoes. I was able to use the AI to see how I would look when my hair finally leaves the top of my head, and ohhh boy, it was an eye opening experience.
I realized that I would look absolutely terrible with a bald head. Currently researching options to make sure my nightmares don't come to a reality. How can men like Tom Brady still have a full head of hair that looks like he's in his 20s? This has lead me down rabbit holes on the web for how someone with my financial means can go back to his boyish handsome looks. Perhaps an emergency flight to Turkey is in order for one of their special hair plug measures.
Thank you @fryingneurons for opening my eyes on my horrific future and helping me get out ahead of the curve. If you are also a balding man and worried about how you'll look when you go completely bald, I highly recommend giving this product a try. Hopefully you're one of the many men in this world who will look good with a bald head, wish I could have been so fortunate.

Indeed this is a great tool to check out how if bald suits you or not. In fact, based on the feedback I've received so far, I've also incorporated various receding styles into the app so men can change the intermediary stages of hair too! 💪
Bald doesn't suit everyone for sure, so taking a look early definitely helps to explore what options are out there!

I've always wondered what I'd look like with red hair and never had the courage to go for it, but now I can find out! Love that you built this as a 24-hour challenge and now it's a fully-fledged product, absolutely the indie maker way of doing things! Good luck with the launch 🚀
