Hi Product Hunt — I built Haired because I wanted AI help that stays out of the way and lets each person choose where inference happens. The workflow is keyboard-first: select an on-screen question, choose an instant answer or ask your own, then read the streamed response in an always-on-top overlay. Haired is free and open source. It works with local LM Studio or Ollama models, existing Codex or Claude CLI logins, or BYOK providers. There is no Haired account, hosted AI proxy, subscription, or usage-credit system. Captures are processed in memory, provider credentials stay outside the renderer, and local history is encrypted. v0.1.2 also adds Interview Mode for detailed reasoning-and-code walkthroughs. I would love feedback on the workflow, provider setup, and the desktop experience on Windows and macOS.
