Why I built this:
Like many of you, I got hooked on the "one person doesn't know the word" trend on TikTok (shoutout to Smosh!) and wanted a super simple way to play it with my friends. I couldn't find a clean, browser-based version that we could just jump into without any downloads, so I decided to build it myself! It started as a fun side project to create a real-time multiplayer game that was fast, free and accessible to everyone.
What makes it different:
The biggest thing is its simplicity. There are no apps to download or accounts to create. You just create a lobby, share a link and you're playing in seconds. I also added a fun strategic twist: the impostor and the secret word stay the same for the entire game (across multiple rounds), so it becomes a real test of memory and deception as you gather more clues. It’s all about tracking behavior over time to find the one person who's bluffing.
What I'm most proud of:
Honestly, I'm just thrilled that this idea turned into a fully functional game that people can enjoy. Building an experience that works on both desktop and mobile was a challenge I'm proud of overcoming. My goal was to create something that could bring a group of friends together for a quick laugh, and I hope I've achieved that.
I'm here all day to answer any questions and would absolutely love to hear your feedback. Hope you have fun trying to find the impostor!
Cheers,
Haries
