Craig Pearce
We've built the first, and only, Google Sheet Add-on that allows users to search and collaborate on domain name searches. All they have to do is enter their domain name and click search. It automatically searches their domain name, and hundreds of other combinations for their consideration. It makes money by creating affiliate links with domain name registrars such as NameCheap and Hover.com (relationships already established). When users purchase a domain name (or hosting service), you get a cut of that revenue. You can view NameCheaps affiliate commission schedule here. Domain registrations are 20% and hosting is 35%. The two co-founders actually came together through a previous Saas app sale. Craig was selling a product and Ed had approached him to potentially work together. Craig had already sold the product but they decided to work together on a future product, and this is where the idea came from. They spent a few weeks coding the add-on and building up assets (such as domain, logo etc). Unfortunately once the app launched, Ed's home state of Texas was hit with a bad winter storm and he couldn't dedicate time to marketing the add-on as planned (his wife is also 2 weeks away from delivering their second baby). Craig and Ed made the decision to sell the add-on to give Ed some cash for some much needed home repairs as a result of the storm. Hopefully this allows someone else to take the project and kickstart it's growth. We have put together a FAQ sheet that you can view here (https://docs.google.com/document...). It covers very common questions, however feel free to ask anything else!
