Power your AI projects, workflows and software with the spreadsheets you trust. GRID turns your spreadsheets into fast, scalable RESTful APIs to integrate Excel and Google Sheets business logic into your applications - no need to rewrite spreadsheets as code.

I love this and have been looking for some time. I train 100s of manufacturers in Canada how to go from 0>1 with AI and think this tool could be a perfect part of our introductory boot camp. I would love to meet and learn more!

@john_galbraith Thanks for the kind words. In our experience, manufacturing often relies heavily on spreadsheets. Sounds like you're talking to a group that might really make the most of our product. I would love to continue the conversation. Just dropped you a note via LinkedIn!

Excited to finally share our spreadsheet API! AI is moving fast, and at GRID, we've made it possible to talk to your spreadsheets - you can now ask for calculations and forecasts in plain text!
Curious to try it out? Head over to grid.is and try out our chat demo - I’d love to hear your thoughts, we’re constantly evolving the way people talk to their spreadsheets!
As a co-founder of GRID, and a backend developer, I'm super excited to hear what the Product Hunt community thinks of our new spreadsheet API offering! To give some background on why, we've worked for years on developing our feature-rich and high performance spreadsheet engine, guided by our belief that spreadsheets are an approachable and powerful development environment which has lacked a way to run its programs outside of the development environment itself.
We've already built one product on top of the technology, aimed at the spreadsheet experts themselves. This time however, we're building a product which should at least be equally appreciated by developers, especially (but not only) those looking to build any type of LLM/GPT solutions with calculation capabilities.
If any of you are also developers who have ever had to implement services for logic or models initially developed in spreadsheets, I'm sure you'll appreciate the possibility of keeping that logic where the domain experts can continue evolving it safely and efficiently.
It's still early days and we're super open to feedback in terms of the API/SDK design, examples or guides we should work on next, etc. Please don't hesitate to ask questions and tell us what you think, we'll really appreciate it!
I'd like to add that we’re doing our best to making the process for developers as seamless and enjoyable as possible. We're putting effort into making our docs and SDKs top-tier, so do give them a go — and don’t forget to tell us if there's anything you'd like to see.

As a member of the founding team I’m incredibly proud to introduce a seemingly simple yet groundbreaking solution to one of AI’s biggest challenges—its tendency to hallucinate when performing calculations.
Large language models (LLMs) have impressed us with their ability to generate text, answer questions, and even write code. But the moment you ask them to crunch numbers, things start to fall apart. We’ve seen bizarre miscalculations, unreliable outputs, and an overall lack of trust when it comes to AI handling math. And let’s face it—if we can’t trust an AI to get the numbers right, how can we use it to make data-driven decisions?
That’s exactly the problem we set out to solve. After relentless development, we’ve built a state-of-the-art spreadsheet engine that doesn’t just push the boundaries—it redefines them. With our Spreadsheet-as-a-Service API, you can now seamlessly integrate the power of spreadsheets into your software, unlocking a whole new level of precision and accessibility.
What does this mean in practice?
You can interrogate your spreadsheet using natural language, leveraging LLMs without worrying about incorrect calculations.
You can use the GRID Spreadsheet API as the backbone for your app’s calculations, reducing development time and eliminating the headache of maintaining custom logic.
Most importantly, maintenance is no longer the burden of developers alone—domain experts and business users can now take the wheel, ensuring calculations stay accurate and up to date without a single line of code.
This is more than just another API. It’s a shift in how we think about AI, numbers, and trust. And I can’t wait to see how you use it.

@hjalli @gthb @hoddmachine @yngvi @alexandrabjarg and everybody else at GRID, congrats on this launch! I think my first use case for this won't be a legacy spreadsheet (although I 100% see the value of that), but rather taking a pricing model spreadsheet I've been noodling with and using it directly via API instead of reimplementing everything in code. Thank you!!

@joisig The perfect use-case if you ask us.
