I built this free app because I love chess (even though I’m not great at it), and I wanted something that brings people together. The name “Great Power Chess” is a nod to today’s global tensions, but it’s also a hopeful reminder: one of the greatest powers in life is the power of friendship. This app was designed for two people to play face to face, each commanding a different side of the board. You can also play both sides yourself, if you’re just experimenting or learning. There’s no strict turn system—just like when you’re playing on a real board at home. That freedom makes it a great tool for learning and exploring how the two systems interact. Just tap on a piece to see a simple explanation of how it moves, along with all its possible moves. It’s easy to use and doesn’t require any prior knowledge or complicated learning.
