I built Grato because so many service workers rely on tips, but in a cashless world, it’s harder for customers to show appreciation. Workers were missing out simply because people didn’t have bills in their pocket.
With Grato, tipping is:
⚡ Instant (workers receive tips right in their Stripe account)
💳 Flexible (customers can use any card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, etc.)
🔒 Secure (no awkward QR hacks or money floating around)
What makes Grato unique is that the platform fee is covered by the tipper, not the worker — so workers keep more of what they earn. And unlike some alternatives, there are no setup fees, no monthly costs, and no app required for the customer.
What I’m most proud of is that this started as a simple idea to help workers be recognized for their hard work, and it’s already making a real difference.

Fantastic idea RaSheem! You created a solution for patrons and service members to bridge the tipping gap in many industries. I see a bigger need for this in the future as we move closer to a cashless society. Good luck, looking forward to your success
