Hey everyone I built GlowReadTTS because every TTS extension I tried either sent my text to a server or sounded like a GPS from 2012.
The entire AI voice model ships inside the extension. No cloud, no downloads after install, no accounts. You can turn off wifi and it still works.
Right-click any text on a page and it reads it aloud with sentence highlighting. Pause and resume from the page or with a keyboard shortcut. 15 voices, adjustable speed, fully offline.

Update: v1.1.0 is live.
The voice model now starts loading the moment you open the popup rather
than waiting until you hit read, so that time overlaps with picking a voice
or typing instead of stacking on top of it.
Added automatic recovery for the speech engine. If it ever stops responding
it now detects that and rebuilds itself on the next read, instead of needing
an extension reload.
Plus a clearer status message during the first load, so a slow start does
not look like the extension has frozen.
