GitHub is full of incredible open-source projects, but discovering and understanding them can feel like navigating a maze. Glintty is a discovery layer for GitHub that helps you find interesting projects, understand what they do, compare alternatives, and save the ones you want to explore later. No social network. No project launches. Just a simpler way to explore open source. **Find. Understand. Save.**
Hey Product Hunt!
We built Glintty because we kept running into the same problem: GitHub is an incredible place to build and share software, but discovering interesting projects isn't always easy.
Sometimes you find a repository and still have to dig through the README, tabs, releases, activity, documentation and related projects just to understand whether it's actually useful to you.
So we built a different layer on top of GitHub.
With Glintty, you can:
ā Discover projects through search, Popular Now and Hidden Gems
ā Understand what a project is, who it's for and how healthy it is
ā Compare 2ā4 projects side by side
ā Save interesting projects into your own Collections
ā Explore open source without needing to navigate the GitHub maze
Glintty doesn't replace GitHub ā GitHub remains the source of truth. We simply want to make the discovery experience better.
We're a small independent team, and this is our first public launch of Glintty.
We'd genuinely love to know:
**What do you currently use to discover interesting open-source projects?**
And after trying Glintty: **what would make you come back to it?**
