Hey hunters š
Ever come back to a blocked-in car, a flat tire someone noticed hours ago, or a fresh dent with no note? The usual fix is scribbling your phone number on a piece of paper and leaving it in the window - which means handing your number to every single person who walks past your car.
That always bugged me, so I built GlassPing.
It's a small QR sticker you put inside the bottom corner of your windshield, facing out. When someone needs to reach you - headlights left on, you're parked them in, a delivery driver can't find you - they just point their camera at it. A simple message form opens (no app, no account, no download), they type a quick note, optionally attach a photo, and hit send. You get a push notification on your phone in seconds.
The whole thing is built around one idea: the helpful stranger can reach you, and nothing else can.
š Your number, name, and email are never visible to whoever scans
š² Instant push pings (works on iOS 16.4+ and Android via PWA - no App Store)
š« No data selling, GDPR & CCPA compliant, messages auto-delete after 90 days
šø $5 once. No subscription, no upsells, unlimited inbound messages forever
It's handy for everyday parking, EV charging etiquette, lost items near your car, and fleet/delivery vehicles (one sticker per van, customers reach the right driver without published numbers).
Would love your feedback - especially edge cases I haven't thought of and where you'd want this beyond the windshield. AMA! š
