GiveMeText is a Chrome extension that extracts live subtitles and transcripts from YouTube and Google Meet in real time. Instead of manually taking notes, it formats dialogue lines with speaker tags and exports everything directly into a clean Word document (.doc).

I built GiveMeText because I was tired of manually typing notes during calls and YouTube videos.
The extension automatically tags different speakers and exports everything into a formatted Word doc with 1 click.
I decided to make the full version completely open-source and free for everyone on GitHub! If you want to test it out or check the code, you can grab it here:
