Have you ever had too much fun with the GitHub API and ended up creating too many dummy repos? Me too 😅! I made this little CLI tool to clean up repositories quickly. I'm planning to add some flags and regexp to delete in bulk in the future.
Simple and useful. Exaclty what I needed to get rid of old, abandoned repositories. Now it's easier to find the good ones in my GitHub account without the noise!
Hello, PH! It's my first time sharing a product here 😅
I've built this lil CLI tool as a quick way to clean up all my unused repos. Why? Sometimes I have too much fun playing with the GitHub API, and things get messy too quickly.
As a maker who loves to create tools that fulfill a clear purpose, I hope you find it valuable and productive.
I’d love to hear your feedback <3
Thanks!
Every developer working with actions, webhooks, and the rest of GitHub Automations has TONS of testing repos in their profiles.
Pew Pew makes our life easier and has the coolest name ever!
Love the idea. This is exactly what I need. I have been manually deleting ~20 repo lately and can def experience the pain. What app do you use to generate your demo image? looks pretty good
@dat_nguyen9 I coded it myself in vanillaJS! Planning to release a package to make it easy for folks to reuse :)
Report
As a developer using GitHub every day, I tend to create many repositories just to test out things such as trying out ideas for github actions workflows, or create forks to collaborate on small things on Open Source repos (sometimes just a tiny README or doc change). What happens is that I end up with many different repositories that are no longer useful. This tool is going to be great for cleaning that up! Great job!
