Christian Bryant
Software engineering has been a great career choice. For the last decade, I've loved being able to solve significant, macro-level problems by tackling smaller, micro-level problems with code. I've gotten the chance to work directly with brilliant minds, improve my skills, and make a generous living – but I paid the price. At 29, I felt like I was living in the body of someone much older. I was getting terrible sleep, making regular visits to the chiropractor, and had a severe case of dad-bod. In addition to the physical symptoms, I would often find myself in a grumpy mood, which affected my relationships, motivation outside of work, and more. I felt utterly burnt out. I hit a wall in 2020 as one of the first employees in Europe's fastest-growing startup in history. In one year, we grew from 10 to 600+ employees, and my roles and responsibilities continued to grow. Coding and team management were my life for about 14-16 hours per day. Software development has its benefits, but they shouldn't come at the cost of your health, so I decided to get my ass in check. For the next year, I dedicated myself to health and wellness, even to the point of getting certified as a personal trainer. I could not afford to fall back into my past ways of living – I made fitness my life. Throughout my training, I realized that it isn't "hard" to start living a healthy lifestyle; what's hard is maintaining it. Although it's what we get marketed, getting fit isn't all about having a six-pack. From my personal experience, I found my most success by thinking about my health holistically as a balance between a fit body and mind: exercise, nutrition, sleep, and mindfulness. Taking a balanced approach not only made me feel 100x better and reach my goals, but it has allowed me to maintain them. This ultimately led me to where I am today – sharing my tactics with you through GitFit – health and wellness designed for the tech professional. I plan to keep my service offering simple and easy to get started. If you're new to health and wellness and want to experiment, take advantage of my free, 4-week program, GitFit.now(). Each week you'll progress through the workout routine I used to kickstart any intensive training program I put myself through. It's 100% body weight, and you don't need a gym. If you're looking for a more tailored option, then check out my 8-week program, GitFit.premium(). For the next few months, I'll be keeping the pricing pretty accessible at only $229 - this is a steal btw. You'll get 1:1 access to me in the premium program, and we'll dive deep into your health and wellness goals. You'll get a bespoke exercise routine based on your needs, as well as coaching sessions around improving your nutrition, sleep, and mindfulness. I'm looking forward to helping as many software engineers or individuals in the stressful tech industry as I can. Like I mentioned earlier, gaining the benefits of being a software engineer shouldn't come at the cost of your well-being. In health, Christian
