I love it. Been looking for something similar for quite some time. Even better coming from a Montreal team. I'd like to have more ways to filter out results. I am looking for running shoes brand but I can't search that category and the sports category is too large.
But I am sure you guys are already working on it ;-)
@philgo20 thank you so much yess! such great feedback! Yes, we're working on it and can't wait to facilitate this for you and share this feature soon :)
@philgo20 This is exactly what we are trying to build!
Today you can browse using the main category and it's a good start, but not enough.
What we are currently building will allow you to search and filter by:
- A sub-category (Shoes)
- A product (Running Shoes)
- A product feature / material (GORE-TEX / Waterproof)
So we can understand you better, are you looking to benchmark your brand with similar brands?
Or for which objective are you trying to find "running shoes"?
@philgo20 Thanks, Phil, for sharing your use case. We need more of those. Between lead generation for B2B sales and consumer brand discovery, we will have to choose a path.

@maxime_yahouedeou My use case is purely personal: looking to discover great new consumer brands, versus discovering the ones spending the most in marketing or relayed by my social media echo chamber.

@alexandre_renaud For sure. I know where you guys are coming from and I am not sure my use case is where you headed but hey ;-) I wish I had taken the time to say hi at the BDC event last week. Great stuff you guys are doing. Keep it up!

Awesome way to get to know more brands. I am curious though, how do you define what a quality brand is?
Report
Asked too soon, just saw your reply to someone else with the same question :)
Love this "Brands with great blueprints for environment, social, and governance"
@sarah_buckman Thanks Sarah for your question. Defining "quality brands" can be a bit tricky, but we usually rely on 4 topics: Product, Company, People.
Product: Does the product created by the brand is well designed, made to last and convenient?
Company: Does the company is trying to manufacture products in a sustainable way?
People: Do people love the brand?
As we go, we are discovering more criteria, so feel free to let us know if you would like to see a specific metric for brands!
@sarah_buckman thanks for looking, Sarah. To complement what @maxime_yahouedeou mentioned, on the metric side, we are filtering to get to the brand level and not stores. Brands are the owners of the IP, and that's where we can extract the data from the product, category, certification, and other qualifiers that surface authentic brands.
It's so difficult to discover new authentic brands out there in the sea of noise, Google and Amazon are good at surfacing those. I hope this is helpful; happy to connect further. Cheers
@tynianov Thanks a lot Aleksandr! Using tech at scale to improve discoverability and help small and medium brands. So glad to have you as a contributor on this project.
Sweet! Grats on the launch. Been looking for something just like this to help me navigate the endless sea of brands out there today.
For clothing - is there a way to filter by gender? I was trying to search for "men's fashion" brands but wasn't able to figure out how. Thanks!
@saasdesigner amazing thank you for sharing! Yes love that! So many opportunities to add 🔑 search features. We will use this great feedback towards building out new tools to do this type of sorting.
@saasdesigner Thanks Bren for your comment. We are currently working on this kind of features.
Today you can browse using the category "Clothing", but soon you will be able to search by:
- Sub-categories (Men's fashion)
- Products (Jacket)
- And Product Features & Materials ( Waterproof, Wool, etc..).
We would love to chat more about it with you, to accurately understand what you need!

Such a great product and so cool to see it reach this momentous point. I can't wait to see what's next!
@vincent_ramsay_lemelin 1% for the planet and B-corporation are today the really valuable when looking at sustainable brands. Do you have other filters top of your mind that you would like to see?
@vincent_ramsay_lemelin thanks, @vincent_ramsay_lemelin, yes indeed, discovering authentic and sustainable brands is difficult in this ocean of products. Thanks for sharing your use case. Cheers
