Hi Everyone! π
We're excited to introduce gdocweb - a powerful free tool that effortlessly transforms your Google Docs into simple GitHub hosted websites.
gdocweb aims to simplify website building by leveraging Google Docs's user-friendliness and GitHub's robust capabilities. No coding expertise needed and no hosting costs or hidden fees!
gdocweb is great for collaborative documentations/wikis, blogs, resumes, intranets, personal sites, business cards, invitations, and proposals, etc.
Here are some key features:
- Effortless Conversion: Instantly convert Google Docs to HTML with a few clicks.
- User-Friendly: Intuitive interface for a smooth onboarding experience.
- Customization: Define your website's theme and appearance effortlessly.
- GitHub Hosting: Enjoy unlimited, free hosting with a GitHub account.
Here's how it works:
- Google Docs is where the content for your site lives, its where you spend most of your time creating and updating your site.
- gdocweb is where you make your website, it works behind the scenes to convert Google Docs into a static webpage that stays in sync with your documents.
- GitHub is where all converted sites are deployed. Theyβre hosted on a GitHub subdomain and you can also connect your own domain to your site.
β‘ gdocweb is in beta and 100% free, please support us by spreading the word. We're excited to see what you build and would love your feedback ππ»
No way. I literally posted on Hacker News asking whether this was possible about a week ago. How does it handle images, charts and links if everything is stored in plain text?

@cwbuilds1 it downloads images to the GitHub project and stores them using the SHA of the image for uniqueness. Charts arenβt supported at the moment so they would need to be converted to standard raster images.

Congratulations, Combined with github pages it's great to have your own site quickly and for free, and maybe you can combine it with Notion.
