What do you think? …

Hi, I’m Sévan. I’ve got that all-too-common affliction where I spend more time wondering if the game I’m about to buy is a good deal than actually playing it. That’s become the real game for me. Up to now, search engines have always relied on the same comparison points: genre, price, platform… And if you want to dig deeper, you end up watching 15-minute let’s plays or spending hours reading endless reviews, without ever really knowing if you’ll feel the same way as the reviewer. With Game-A-Ton, I wanted to change that. I’ve built a tool that provides concise summaries of games, combined with data on each motivational driver that might push any of us to play—or not play—a particular title. It’s a bit more useful than the Steam discovery queue, right? And with this tool, you’re in control. You can understand exactly why a game is being recommended—no hidden algorithms, no disguised ads or sponsored “content.” If you decide to buy a game through the link, I may earn a small commission. Behind the scenes, each game is submitted to a language model along with player reviews. The model evaluates the game based on that feedback, which saves a ton of time, even if there’s a slight trade-off in quality. The category system is heavily inspired by the research in a particular article (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi... thanks to the author for publishing it openly. In the long run, the project aims to cover a vast catalog of games, all the way down to small indie gems and game jam wonders. Shoot for the moon—if we miss, we’ll still land among the stars. Enjoy,

Recommendations based on motivational preferences is interesting. Does it connect to your Steam library to learn from what you already play?

@graino No but it's an interesting idea and I could add that feature in the coming months, thanks for pointing that out !
