Hey PH! I’m Apostolis, and I built Galerra to fix a frustrating gap: 2D photo galleries feel lifeless, and most 3D tools are heavy or require installs. • Drag drop → 3D: Upload a single image, and Galerra auto renders an interactive WebGL walkthrough in ~30 s. • Instant sharing: Copy a link or deep link into our editor to tweak titles, themes, lighting. • Alpha details: Google only sign in saves your galleries permanently; This public alpha is all about smoothing out the UX and crushing bugs—any feedback on performance, mobile quirks, or confusing flows would be hugely appreciated. Can’t wait to hear what breaks! 🚀
Lucas Parsons

@mpoapostolis  Is there a limit on how many photos we can include?

mpoapostolis

@lucas_parsons Hey Lucas!

There’s no hard limit right now, but we recommend staying under ~30 images per gallery (depending on the room) to keep things smooth. We’re actively optimizing the 3D engine to support more, and plan to add smart performance warnings soon if things get heavy.

Ethan Lennon

@mpoapostolis Is it possible to theme the gallery rooms (like retro or art deco)?

mpoapostolis

@ethan_lennon  Hey Ethan!

Right now we offer just those 4 rooms (you can check some preview photos in the Overview section), but we’re planning to add more soon including a retro-themed one!

We’re also working on allowing users to place 3D objects inside their galleries. Lots of fun stuff coming. 🙌

Mia Arthur

This concept is absolutely magical. I love how seamless the transformation appears. How does it manage photo resolution or aspect ratio within the 3D space?

mpoapostolis

@mia_arthur Thanks a lot! 😊 Photos keep their original aspect ratio, and we scale them to fit nicely on the wall without distortion. Right now it’s kept simple, but I’m looking into better ways to handle weird dimensions in the next updates.

Dan Campbell

Is there a limit to how many photos can be included in each gallery? And does the performance take a hit if there are too many images?

mpoapostolis

@dan_campbell1 Technically no limit, but we recommend staying under ~30 depends on room for now to keep loading smooth. We’re optimizing the 3D engine to handle more, and will eventually give warnings if performance might drop.

Grayson Parker

The drag and drop feature is really impressive. How customizable are the virtual rooms? Can users tweak layouts, lighting or themes?

mpoapostolis

@grayson_parker2 Currently, you can tweak titles and image placement, and also pick from different room styles right now we offer 4. Lighting is still a bit tricky and we’re working on making it more intuitive.

The goal is to make everything feel personal and customizable without needing 3D skills. 😊

Lucas Parsons

Can these 3D galleries be embedded on other websites or portfolios or are the walkthroughs only accessible through Galerra-hosted links?

Aria Smith

What’s the experience like on mobile? Can users navigate and interact with the gallery easily on their smartphones or is it primarily optimized for desktop right now?

mpoapostolis

@aria_smith2 It’s actually built with mobile first in mind i use a frameloop on demand to keep it as smooth as possible on smartphones. That said, there’s still a lot of room for optimization on mobile, especially for lower-end devices, and it’s something that i will start work after beta release

Ethan Lennon

This is honestly the simplest way I’ve come across to create a memory capsule. It kind of feels like a blend of Google Street View and your personal camera roll. Great job.

mpoapostolis

@ethan_lennon

That means a lot thank you! 🙏
