@rrrraulsc Like any other mac app: rightclick on fromscratch.app, select open, voila! If you want to "install" it, you can also drag fromscratch.app to your application folder.
@alexg473 coping shortcuts seem to not work on osx, sorry 😟 Luckily everything is saved in a text file: ~/.fromscratch/content.txt so you can get the content from there. I'll fix copy/paste on osx asap!
Hi guys! I built this out of frustration with my previous note taking situation. I took a step back, envisioned what I really needed out of a note taking app, and built just that.
The app does one thing: It gives you quick and easy access to some text. That can be a TO DO, or notes, or whatever you like. Anything you type is automatically saved and text editing is made easy by some extra shortcuts (see website) for quickly ordering or removing lines. It sounds simple and that's because it is, but it's exactly what I need :)
@milann it's built on Electron (same as the Atom editor) so it bundles it's own node and chrome, that's where the bulk of the size comes from. You don't notice the size when using the application though ;)
Giving this a try right now. Very simple, love it.

Love the clean look, but it really needs a few more "smart" things. Lists, Underline, Bold, Italics, Headings. Why not support Markdown? The ability to save automatically is neat, but not enough for me to abandon Sublime for note taking
@jaco_vanderwalt to understand, do you write your notes in markdown? I'm interested in adding things like lists and smartly checking/unchecking, but I'm not sure if the ability to add headers etc is something I want to add.

@kilianvalkhof I use Markdown syntax when taking notes, although it doesn't really do anything right now. I just like to save it in Markdown notation so that if I move it to my wikipage or something I don't need to rewrite it. It's totally up to you what you want to do with your project, but it's something I'd enjoy :)
