Frenalytics

Hi all! I'm really excited to share Frenalytics with the Product Hunt community. When I was 12 years old, my grandma suffered a massive stroke during open-heart surgery. Part of her body was paralyzed and part of her brain was severely damaged, and despite being in the hospital for many months, the rehab she was going through was not helping her improve. I created an early version of Frenalytics as a PowerPoint program - one that was more engaging, personal, and interactive than the generic flashcards she was using in therapy. This "game" showed multiple-choice questions about things that mattered to her most - like her family, her house, and her accomplishments. She showed great enthusiasm and progressed more quickly with this approach to therapy, which made my business partner Chris and I realize we could expand the program's functionality to assist patients suffering from a variety of neurological deficits, like stroke, dementia, TBI, and PTSD. Now, Frenalytics is a patented web app that helps neurologically impaired patients in their recovery by generating highly personalized therapy sessions through the help of family members and medical staff. Our program collects data from family and uses it to present multiple-choice "games" for the patient to engage with, filled with colors, sound effects, and animations. By tapping into a patient's long-term memory, our research has shown that patients are more engaged and can recover more quickly through the personalized rehabilitation techniques embodied in our program.
