FreeTextFormat is a free browser toolkit for copied text. Open PDFs locally, clean line breaks, preserve paragraphs, optionally repair split words, remove duplicate lines, convert case, join or split lists, count text and compare versions. No signup is needed. PDF files and pasted text are processed in your browser and are not uploaded or saved automatically.

I maintain FreeTextFormat, a free collection of browser tools for cleaning and working with copied text.
Two workflows to try:
• Open a PDF locally or paste copied text: join wrapped lines while keeping paragraphs separate. Optional hyphen repair joins words split across lines; review compound words after using it.
• Remove duplicate lines: keep the first occurrence and preserve the original order, with optional case-insensitive matching.
There are also tools for letter case, lists, find and replace, word counts and text comparison. No signup is required. PDF files and pasted text are processed in your browser rather than uploaded.
PDF import reads selectable text from unlocked files up to 10 MB and 100 pages. Review the estimated paragraph breaks and column order. Scanned pages need OCR first. The comma-list tools use literal separators, rather than full CSV parsing.
Which text-cleanup task would you use this for? Feedback on the defaults and examples would help.
