Hey everyone, my name is Brandon, and I am the founder of Fortress.ai. If you are here, you are early adopters, and I wanted to introduce myself and share my story with you. I started Fortress 7 months ago at the onset of the pandemic. I was working at an office in Los Angeles when all of a sudden, we were all set to work from home because of the lockdown. Thats when it came to me; as regular people, we don’t have the kind of privacy and security protect in our homes as we do when working in an office or at school for example. Our networks are essentially open for anyone who wants to take a peek, governments, hackers, and advertisers alike. I had always hated that feeling that I was being watched or judged or that I was just so vulnerable when using the internet, so I decided to quit my job and start nFortress. I have been working full time ever since, and I have put my heart and soul (and savings) into this. I have built a team of super hard working and dedicated people that all share my passion for keeping people safe. Despite working at a real estate office, I am self taught in networking, hardware, and cybersecurity; I hacked and rebuilt every electronic device I ever had as a kid. I graduated college with a degree in political science, which I pursued because I love the history of politics and the world. It taught me a lot of valuable lessons about how society works and is shaped and melded over time. The dangers of a lack of security and privacy are not a new phenomenon, we are just experiencing them in a new way, as our lives are lived online more than ever. While security may be a right for some, privacy is not a right for virtually anyone, and that ought to change. We want to disrupt the way tech companies collect user data, the way advertisers track and target customers, and end government surveillance of its citizens. We want to put an end to spyware and ransomware. We want to put an end to slow, clunky internet. I brought my passions, tech, civil rights, and social change, together to build a product I really wanted to see in the world. I want everyone to feel as if they can use the internet without fear of being tracked or hacked.

How does this compare to the Pi-hole (http://pi-hole.net)?

@roybot Pi-Hole is just a simple DNS based adblocker. FortressOne used machine learning to identify ad and tracker domains and block them on day zero. Additionally, FortressOne has a number of privacy and security features like deep packet inspection and geo-ip blocking. It is an all in one privacy firewall with an emphasis on blocking ads and trackers!

Is this product fully open source? If not, how can it be trusted?
