I’m Faithman, the solo founder of Formatly. I built Formatly after realizing I spent 12 hours on research and 6 hours on formatting. As a solo founder, I wanted to solve a pain point I lived through personally: the tedious, "invisible" hurdle of academic styling that shouldn't exist in 2026, so I decided to build a way out of it.
Most tools only help with citations, but Formatly handles the entire document. From fonts, spacing, and title pages to references—all at once. I wanted to create a "set it and forget it" solution that doesn't feel like a black box.
