Tired of server fees and upload limits for file conversions? Our app converts photos, audio, and video directly on your device—no uploads, no server fees. Free and unlimited! Built with Next.js and WebAssembly-ffmpeg. Try cost-free conversions Now!
I started creating this app that could convert photos, audio, and video seamlessly.
But here's the twist, unlike other online converters that rely on servers and storage(like S3) that cost too much, my app performs all conversions directly on the client side.
𝗡𝗼 𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀, 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱!
Built with Next.js and powered by the WebAssembly version of ffmpeg, written in C.
Check it out now!
congratulations on the launch of formatify, roktim. facilitating client-side conversions while dodging server fees sounds incredibly useful. can you share more about the user experience during large file conversions? does it significantly affect device performance?
@mashy Thanks so much!
I'm glad you find the client-side conversion approach useful. For large file conversions, there can be some impact on device performance depending on the hardware specs.
Most conversions should be smooth on modern devices, but very large files (e.g. 4K videos) may see some slowdown, especially on older or lower-end hardware.
The nice thing is that everything happens locally, so you don't have to worry about internet speeds or upload failures.
I'd recommend giving it a try with your own files to see how it performs on your specific device. And please let me know if you have any other questions! I'm always looking to improve the experience.

Hi! Congrats on launching. I've seen your post on twitter so I came to check it out here and, FYI, i could not see it for a while. Had to scroll down A LOT, not sure why considering it's #!4 today. Anyway, best of luck
