FormatGrid: Free PDF, Image & Audio Tools in Your Browser

I built FormatGrid because I wanted everyday file tools to be simpler, more accessible, and more respectful of privacy.

We often rely on different websites for compressing PDFs, signing documents, resizing images, or handling audio files. I wanted to bring these everyday tasks together in one workspace — without forcing users to create accounts or upload files when processing can happen directly in the browser.

One thing I'm particularly proud of is the engineering behind FormatGrid. Rather than relying entirely on off-the-shelf libraries, I've built our own C++-based processing engines around and beyond existing libraries, with a focus on optimizing performance, improving processing efficiency, and strengthening how files are handled locally.
