Hey all, we have some big news: we’ve launched a new free tier of Formant! This slimmed-down version of our enterprise-grade offering enables individual users to upload live robot data to the cloud and control their robot in real-time. Here’s what you can do on our free plan: - Connect devices to the browser-based Formant platform using our agent - Stream data and video from ROS devices with minimal setup - Configure one dashboard per device with up to 12 modules - Teleoperate devices (with a 2-minute limit per session) - Easily ssh into devices, right from your Formant dashboard The decision to release a freemium product was based on our experience working with robotics startups over the last five years, during which our team saw a number of patterns. One pattern is that successful robotics companies rarely build everything themselves. Instead, these companies leverage off-the-shelf solutions (both hardware and software) to get to market faster. We hope that companies using Formant can spend more time-solving robotics and customer problems, instead of trying to build non-differentiating tools in-house. We'd love to hear you feedback!
