Hey Product Hunters! My name is Crystal Ponti, and I’m the founder of Forewordz (http://forewordz.com) and a lifelong bookworm. Forewordz connects avid readers with up-and-coming authors through personalized book recommendations and daily eBook deals (emailed to subscribers). I launched Forewordz after I noticed a huge disconnect in the eBook discovery and recommendation niche. Similar services favor bestsellers, the big five publishers, and authors who are established and well-known. Indies and self-published authors are at a huge disadvantage, especially those just starting out. Many have written incredible books, but are declined from using a service that can help them build their platform and get their writing out into the world. That’s where the idea for Forewordz was conceived. We’re happy to work with all publishers and authors at any stage of their career, but we really love the independent author. Our submission requirements are less stringent, although we do perform a series of quality assurance checks to make sure our subscribers are receiving a quality product. For readers, Forewordz offers a convenient way to find overlooked or undiscovered books; books not being represented by similar services and books they may not have found through traditional channels like searching Amazon (which is like the Dewey Decimal System on crack) or perusing a local bookstore or library. One of the things that makes Forewordz unique is that we offer value-added services to our partners such as promoting author newsletter links, Goodreads profiles, and audiobooks ($) in our daily emails and posting permafree books to our Free eBook Depot. We want authors to be successful for the long haul, not just the week around a promoted sale. We’re in the very early stages, but gaining traction among romance and action/adventure authors and readers. Our development team is in the process of creating a more robust author dashboard and streamlining our book submission process. The to-do list is long, but we’ll get there.
