I used GPT-6 Astra to build Forasm, a prototype of a school where you learn by trying things yourself. You can change Python code and see what happens, or explore a 3D body and follow how blood travels through it. The idea is to help people understand a lesson by making it something they can see, interact with, and practise.

I built it with GPT-6 Astra to explore how learning could feel more visual, interactive, and hands-on. It’s still early, but you can already walk into the idea and try it.

I think I need to explain what I actually had in mind with Forasm, because just opening the prototype probably won’t explain it.
I grew up in Egypt, and most of my experience in school was text, memorising, and exams. I spent around 18 years studying English, but I still struggled to actually use it. We studied grammar and answered questions, but rarely had a reason to speak the language.
Later, as a dental student studying head and neck anatomy, I struggled with something similar. I was reading about structures, where they started, where they ended, and what they connected to. Trying to imagine all of that from text was hard, especially when English wasn’t my first language.
So I started looking for anatomy videos and illustrations myself. Seeing things helped me understand what I had been reading. But I still had to search for everything and figure out how it fitted together.
I remember discovering mind maps too. I didn’t even know they existed when I was in high school. When I started using them, I kept thinking: why did nobody show me this before? What else could have helped me that I just didn’t know about?
That’s where this idea comes from.
I know some of these tools already exist. But I didn’t know about many of them when I needed them. I wanted that help to be part of the school I was already going to, connected to the lessons I was already studying.
Then I started building with Astra, and I could finally try to make the school I had in my head.
Imagine a teacher explaining part of the body and being able to show you something you can move around and explore. You follow where an artery goes, hide the names, and try to find it yourself. If you get confused, you can ask a question or see it explained another way. The teacher is still there, but now you have more ways to understand what they mean.
And why stop at anatomy? You could practise English by actually having conversations, or learn programming by making something and changing how it works. Different subjects need different things.
I’m especially excited about what Astra could help us build for younger students. Imagine being curious about something and being able to try it, play with it, and ask “what happens if I do this?” as part of your lesson.
Forasm is still an early version of that idea. Some parts need a lot more work before they’re as useful as I want them to be. Most of it was built by me working with Astra over about two days on "ChatGPT Plus". I upgraded to Pro just before launch for some extra polish.
Building it made me think: if I can get this far, what could a team of teachers and developers do with Astra? What if schools or governments helped build something like this across the curriculum, with people checking the content and testing it with students?
I know that would take much more than this demo. But that’s what I want people to imagine when they enter Forasm.
