A quiet place for short writing.

A quiet place for short writing. A public short-form writing platform for notes, marginalia, and small essays. No likes. No followers. No algorithms. Just words that accumulate over time. Footnotes is a shared space where anyone can publish small, self-contained pieces of writing. You can also add footnotes—your own or others'—to your personal collection. Not to perform. Not to rank. Just to keep the things that stayed with you. Everything here is public. The writing flows slowly, newest first.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 Footnotes is a small, quiet experiment in public writing. It’s for short pieces: notes, marginalia, fragments, things you don’t want to perform or optimize. There are no likes, no followers, and no algorithms. Writing shows up newest first and slowly drifts down over time. You can publish your own pieces, and you can also collect footnotes—yours or others’—into a personal archive of things that stayed with you. This isn’t trying to replace blogs, notes apps, or social networks. It’s deliberately slower and narrower than that. If you’ve ever wanted a place to write without an audience meter running in the background, this might resonate. Happy to answer questions, and equally happy if you just browse and leave quietly.
