A few months ago, my wife told me she wishes there was a way she could share her recipes with my mom and vice versa. To our suprise all of the recipe managment apps that we tried on the Apple appstore didn't allow for the easy sharing and saving of recipes between normal users.
Fast forward a few months and Foodeez is now live on the Appstore with Android coming soon!
Since its inception it's feature set has grown slightly from the basic recipe sharer that it started as, and it now has a strong focus on recipe discovery. Some of the main features:
- Import recipes from social media, websites or even photos of a handrwitten recipes
- Plan your weekly meels with a drag and drop planner (you can also merge your planner with people you live with!)
- Weekly meal plan templates
- Generate sorted shopping lists (organised by grocery isle) from your weekly planner
- Post your creations, tag recipes and friends, and see what your friends are cooking!
The app is also offline first, so many off the features work without a connection to the internet, and interacting with the app in general should feel snappy!
The app is free to use (with some basic limits). With a free account you can:
- Create 20 recipes
- Import 1 recipe per month from social media
- Use the weekly planner
- Create unlimited posts
For $2.99 you can upgrade to Foodeez plus and get access to:
