Hi Product Hunt!
A couple of years ago I wanted something stupidly simple: to turn
my own handwriting into a font. I was making save-the-dates for a
friend's wedding, and I wanted the text to actually look
handwritten, because it was.
Every tool I found was a professional font editor: heavy desktop
software, a steep learning curve, and a price tag to match.
Turning a few letters into a font should take five minutes, not a
career.
So I built FontMaker. It runs entirely in your browser:
- Import SVG files, or plain images of your letters (PNG, JPG...):
they are traced into clean vector glyphs automatically. You can
also draw glyphs right in the app.
- Adjust baseline, size and spacing for every glyph, with a live
preview as you type.
- Export a real TTF or OTF font, ready to install and use anywhere:
Word, Canva, Figma, Photoshop, Procreate, the web.
It is completely free: no account, no watermark, no limits. And
private by design: your files never leave your device, everything
is processed locally.
I will be around all day, happy to answer anything. What would you
turn into a font first, your handwriting or your doodles?
