FontSnap detects fonts on any webpage the moment you hover — no inspecting, no DevTools, no guessing from a screenshot. Click the extension, hover over text, and a floating card shows you the exact font family, weight, and size in real time. If it's a Google Font, one click copies the CSS import — ready to paste into your own project.

Hey PH — solo built this one. I kept losing time trying to ID fonts on sites I liked, bouncing between screenshot-to-font tools and squinting at computed styles in DevTools. FontSnap is the tool I wanted: hover, see the name, copy it, done.
It's live and free on the Chrome Web Store [link]. Would love feedback, especially on font detection accuracy on sites with weird custom font-loading setups — that was the hardest part to get right.
One thing I'd love is being able to save the fonts I detect into a little collection or mood board within the extension. Hovering through dozens of sites to remember that one perfect serif I saw last week is a pain, and having them all in one spot would make Font Snap way more useful for inspiration and client work.
@polate3hd Love this idea. Honestly this is exactly the kind of use case I built FontSnap for but didn't build far enough yet. A saved fonts collection is on my radar now. Appreciate you spelling out the actual pain point (hunting through old sites to find "that one serif"), makes it way easier to design the right way. Will keep you posted!❣️
finally something that beats opening devtools just to check a font, the hover card feels snappy and the one-click google fonts import is a nice touch
@kaanetkinjwgt This means a lot, thank you! The hover card and one-click import were the two things I obsessed over getting right, so hearing it actually beats the DevTools workflow for you is exactly the validation I needed. More coming soon.
