Rediscover the collection hiding in your card boxes. Scan a card, check its set and finish, and give it a home in a digital binder. FoilFox is free for collectors on iPhone, iPad, Android, and the web. Start with Pokémon.
What became possible in your product with Astra that was not practical before?
Maker
As a solo founder, building FoilFox required simultaneously delivering native mobile applications, custom image processing bridges, cloud catalog services, Shopify synchronization, and go-to-market design. Delivering this surface area traditionally requires a team of five specialized software engineers, data specialists, and designers.
Astra functions as a force multiplier across each discipline throughout development. I use Astra to design native bridge modules connecting on-device computer vision models to mobile runtimes, web design, structure complex data structures and catalog schemas across hundreds of thousands of card variants and artwork, and develop multi-channel inventory synchronization layer. Beyond systems engineering, Astra supports brand design, technical documentation, and launch positioning.
Astra compressed what is typically an eighteen-month multi-engineer roadmap into a production-grade product built entirely by a single founder.

Hey Product Hunt! I'm Steve, the maker of FoilFox. 🦊
That box of cards you keep meaning to sort? Your next great find might already be yours.
FoilFox is built for the moment you pull out a card and think: Which version is this? Do I already have it? Where does it belong?
Scan a card, review its set and finish, and give it a home in a digital binder. Start with Pokémon and a few cards you love. The collector app is free on iPhone, iPad, Android, and the web. No credit card required.
I've spent 25 years building computer-vision and AI systems, including founding ImageVision and working on deep learning at NVIDIA and AI at AWS. FoilFox brings that experience to something you can hold in your hands. Shiny cards and phone cameras make for wonderfully stubborn engineering problems.
For the GPT-6 Astra Challenge, Astra has been part of the work behind the app: helping implement ideas, investigate bugs, and test changes through Codex. The card recognition itself runs on your phone, with your confirmation before a card is saved.
We're also working with card shops on a separate Shop workspace. For this launch, the invitation is simple: bring a few cards and see what you rediscover.

What's the one card in your collection you'd never trade away? And what would make organizing the rest more fun?
I'll be here to talk cards, hear your feedback, and share how we built it.
