Focus Tomato 2 is a retro Pomodoro timer that avoids leaderboards, streaks & gamification. Focus 25 mins, rest 5, track extra breaks, edit logs anytime, add custom tags, enjoy ambient sounds, sync via iCloud — all ad-free.

Why did I build this?
Work can be exhausting. After trying the Pomodoro Technique, I noticed a clear boost in my actual productive hours. But rest needs to be forced—otherwise, you’ll eventually burn out.
What’s unique about it?
I’ve tried many Pomodoro timer apps, but each had small flaws that didn’t fit my workflow. For example, some don’t let you edit the time, and when you use your phone as a timer, it’s easy to forget it’s even running—you forget to stop it, or forget to start it. Many apps also tie focus and rest together, but sometimes I want to rest first, rest twice in a row, or I might accidentally start working again during a break.
In Focus Tomato 2, breaks have their own tab, independent from focus sessions. Long break durations can be adjusted before each one—something the Pomodoro creator himself recommends. After a break ends, the app keeps tracking if you over-rest, so you know exactly how much extra downtime you took. Overall, I keep the app simple—work is already stressful enough without a complicated tool adding to it.
What am I most proud of?
A clean, retro, and playful interface designed to help you finish work faster and then truly put down your phone to enjoy life—while avoiding anything that distracts you or adds unnecessary stress.
