Most people juggle three or four apps to train properly: Hevy or Strong for lifting, MyFitnessPal or Cal AI for food, Happy Scale for weight. None of them talk to each other. Focal puts it all in one place: log sets fast mid-session, snap or describe a meal for instant macros, track your weight trend instead of daily noise, and see how training, food and recovery add up each week. One app, one honest picture of your progress.

Hey Product Hunt! I've been training for 20 years, and for most of that time my "fitness stack" was three or four apps stitched together. Hevy and Strong for lifting, MyFitnessPal and later Cal AI for food, Happy Scale for weight. They're genuinely good apps, and I used them daily for years. But they never talked to each other, so the most important question, "is what I'm doing actually working?", meant flicking between apps and doing the maths myself.
A few things kept bugging me:
Logging food was still a chore, so I'd skip it on busy days. In Focal you snap a photo, scan a barcode, or just describe what you ate, and you get macros in seconds.
Daily scale weight is mostly noise. Focal tracks your weight trend the way Happy Scale does, so a salty dinner doesn't ruin your week.
Set logging had to be fast enough to use mid-session with a barbell waiting, so that's what I obsessed over first: quick entry, plate calculator, rest timers, programmes that carry your numbers forward.
And the bit no single app gave me: a week review that puts training, food, steps and weight on one screen, so you can see cause and effect instead of guessing.
The approach changed a lot along the way. It started as a lifting tracker for myself, but every time I reached for a second app I asked whether it belonged in Focal instead. Nutrition, check-ins and Apple Health made the cut; anything that didn't help answer "is it working?" got left out.
I'd love to hear what your current stack looks like and what would make you consolidate. Happy to answer anything!

Logged a full push day in under two minutes and loved that the meal scan actually pulls decent macro estimates without making me weigh anything. Finally feels like one app could replace my messy four-app setup.

the all in one approach is genuinely needed, would love to see a quick way to log water too since that always slips through the cracks for me, maybe just a tap target on the home screen with a default amount
