Hey Product Hunt, it’s been a while! We weren’t avoiding you (I swear!) - we’ve just been cooking up something special 🍳 I’m so, so excited to share Fluent 2.0 with you - the world’s first language tutor and conversation coach in your browser. If you want to speak a new language, there aren’t many great options. Tutors are expensive, approaching strangers is inconvenient (if you can even find a native speaker), and apps don’t really teach spoken language. I’ll bet you’ve spent hours on language apps, getting no closer to actual conversations - and let’s be honest, it’s hard to stick around on these apps for more than a few weeks anyways. Which is why we decided to ✨turn your browser itself✨ into the language tutor! Rather than paying hundreds per week for someone to hold you accountable & perfect your speech, Fluent turns anything you read online into a language lesson and pronunciation drill. If you’re terminally online like me, those hours add up quick - and you’ll get more practice speaking your language than you thought possible! So, what’s new in Fluent 2.0? 🗣️ AI-powered pronunciation lessons 🖊️ Reading, writing, & listening lessons 🏃🏽‍♂️ Start a focused practice session right from any webpage 🏆 Streaks & leaderboards And that’s just the beginning - we’re racing to add more conversation focused features, so Fluent becomes a true browser-based language tutor. In the coming weeks we’ll be adding: 〰️ Sentence-level conversation practice 🤖 Live conversation practice about the contents of any webpage 🧑🏽‍🏫 Grammatical corrections in live conversation So click the link above or visit to try Fluent for free for 7 days! Catch you at the next launch 🙂 P.S. Thanks for the hunt @hnshah ! You’re the best ❤️

@hnshah @gavin_dove1 Thanks to Fluent 2.0, it's finally possible to hone your pronunciation without the routine. Looking forward to more conversation-focused features.💪

@hnshah @antonikozelski Thanks Antoni! Our dream is to help anyone speak a new language faster - no matter how disciplined (or lazy!) they are :) Can't wait to share our sentence-level pronunciation and live conversation features here in the coming weeks!

@madalina_barbu Thank you Madaline! Not everyone has access to fellow language learners or tutors they can easily practice conversation with. Hopefully Fluent helps people practice speaking new languages even on their own!

Big congrats! Good luck, guys!

Oleg from FirstHR

@oleg_eltsov Thank you for the vote Oleg! You have my gratitude!
Congrats on launch! Any roadmap on supporting more languages? I'd argue that these 6 are covered in complete saturation - no one is struggling finding resources to learn German or Spanish, right? I'd be much more interested in learning smaller languages or even something weirder like esperanto and that's exactly where AI integration would shine. Feels a bit like a missed opportunity imo.
Gavin Dove
@reb_sadran Thanks for the comment Reb! Totally agree - these are the most popular languages, which is why we started with them! I'd love to cover smaller languages as soon as possible (our co-founding team's first languages include languages like Hebrew, Cantonese, Catalan and Armenian), and I think AI will play a big role in enabling that. Before LLMs and the techniques to train them appeared, that looked like it would be many years (and a much larger team) away. I can't give an exact date, but now I think the timeline has shrunk significantly. Right now our first priority is reaching a clear product/market fit. As soon as we've hit that and our product is stable, we're going to expand our set of languages as quickly as we can! In the meantime, we've put together this voting page to get a sense of what languages people want on Fluent. If you drop the languages you want there, you'll be notified when they're live! https://feedback.fluent.co/langu...

I like the idea of being able to learn something new while reading something you are interested in.
Gavin Dove
@bryanmcanulty Same! My cofounders and I got tired of learning "The apple is angry" and other nonsensical sentences on all the usual language apps 😂
Alex Caza
