Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm the maker of Flow Tabs Pro. Built this because my own Chrome was using 8GB of RAM with 60+ tabs open for development work.
The wake-up call: My computer would literally freeze when switching between projects. I tried other tab managers but they were either too complex or didn't actually save memory.
What Flow Tabs Pro does differently:
Suspends tabs you're not using (you'd be surprised how much memory this frees)
Super Focus Mode follows you as you work, auto-suspending everything else
Session management actually makes sense - save/switch entire workspaces instantly
Fun fact: During testing, one user went from 6.2GB Chrome memory usage down to 2.8GB with 45 tabs open.
I have gone through multiple updates already with the product team as we have been using this for a couple of weeks pre launch here.
Happy to answer any questions! And if you try it, I'd love to hear what you think.
Hi everyone and thanks for coming to the launch. You will find this is one of the most extensive tab management extensions available and we are open to any new recommendations put forward if you do find a bug or feel something is missing. Please feel free to drop a comment or email
The idea of slashing memory use by suspending inactive tabs is brilliant. It’s awesome to see the maker, Simon, being so responsive—jumping into the comments to chat about features like form data preservation and even planning updates based on feedback.
@m050970905 thanks Minnie. That’s the plan. We wanted something we could use so it has to be good but something the public can use as well and as with any software people have different needs. There have been others before us but we developed our own as we found them lacking of features, buggy or with a total lack of support and updates. Let us know if you have anything you would like to see in the upcoming releases.
