Floppy Disk is a free slack app to save your favorite Slack threads to Notion, Airtable or Coda with one click! With some retro vibes. Floppy stores the entire contents of a thread so your community or team can reference quality threads in the future.
@aravindh_dorai Thanks! It gets stored as a table in this format https://www.notion.so/Stored-sla...
Replies are formatted nicely and you can search from the table. You can also create other views as you like aside from the table.
I head up partnerships at Coda and am loving this (I would certainly use it myself!) I saw the Notion example, do you have one of how it shows up in a Coda doc? Also out of curiosity, how you see this as different than Push by Zapier? Seems like it might be ease of use to set up/map columns.
@nickvalluri Here are instructions for Coda -> https://www.notion.so/Floppy-Dis...
Yes, the only difference is in the ease of use vs. having to go through a few steps of setting it up on Zapier. Plus, we don't plan to charge for this text only version, so you will save on Zaps :)
Hey everyone! @Pranavbadami and I are excited to share Floppy Disk - a slack app to save your favorite slack threads to Notion, Airtable or Coda with one click! 💾 Retro themed
Valuable content gets lost in slack - floppy disk solves this by letting you store the entire contents of your favorite threads in a database of your choice for future reference.
Over the last few months, we have been working on Dots to help community managers scale their communities, and saving threads is one of the features. We started getting request from friends to have this ability to save threads in their own workspaces as well. As such, we created this standalone drop for anyone to take advantage of the ability to save threads!
Setup is super quick, and you can switch the database of choice from the settings later.
Would love to hear your thoughts/feedback.
PS: doesn't support images yet!
@bryan_li Thank you! Ah I liked how you described it as an unroll app!

Very cool product @sanketchauhan and @pranavbadami ! This is a huge need as subject matter expertise in Slack gets lost very quickly. Definitely an up-level from just "pinning" the post in a thread, which also can get cumbersome.
Fantastic! All those great nuggets that get lost in Slack's whirlwind, saved for later! Looking forward to using this especially in professional communities where there's a lot of knowledge flying around
