FlipCheck pulls real eBay sold comps (not asking prices), checks sell-through rate and active competition, and nets out fees, shipping, and your cost - giving resellers a clear Buy / Maybe / Research / Pass verdict before they spend a dime. Built for people who source at thrift stores, estate sales, auctions, and clearance racks. It's not a hype tool: if the math is thin, it says so.

Hey Product Hunt! I'm Chad, the maker of FlipCheck.
I got into reselling and kept making the same mistake: buying something at a thrift store or estate sale because it "looked" valuable, then finding out later it either doesn't sell or the margin is basically nothing once you factor in eBay fees and shipping.
Asking prices are fiction. What matters is what things actually sold for, how fast they're moving, and how much competition is already listed. So I built FlipCheck to pull that data automatically: scan or describe an item, get real eBay sold comps, sell-through rate, and active competition, with the profit math already done. It gives you a straight Buy, Maybe, Research, or Pass call before you spend a dime.
The thing I care about most is that it's honest. It's not trying to hype every item into a "yes" - if the numbers are thin, it says pass. That's the whole point.
Would love feedback from anyone who sources inventory for resale, and happy to answer questions about how the scoring works.

Finally tried FlipCheck on a stack of thrift finds and the sell-through rate check alone saved me from a bad buy. Love that it actually says Pass when the margin is too thin.

@glzararkanzqio That's the feature I get the most pushback on internally, honestly — people want a tool that says yes. But a Pass that saves you from dead inventory is worth way more than a hyped-up Buy. Glad it worked on the thrift stack.

The sell-through rate check saved me from buying a "great deal" camera lens last weekend. Glad it tells me when the math is thin instead of hyping everything up.

@eneskyxj That's exactly the scenario I built it for — a "deal" that's actually just slow-moving inventory. Glad it caught it before you did. Curious what the sell-through looked like on that lens?

The sold comps vs asking prices thing is honestly the killer feature, most tools just feed you hopeful numbers. Tried it on a box of old相机 I had laying around and the verdict matched what I already suspected. Wish I'd had this before last year's estate sale binge.

@asyatdsy That's the whole reason I built it — asking prices are just wishful thinking from other sellers. Glad it confirmed your gut on the cameras. The estate sale binge regret is very relatable, that's basically my origin story for this tool.

Love that it uses actual sold comps instead of asking prices, that alone sets it apart from every other flip tool I have tried. The pass verdict is refreshing too, most tools try to hype everything into a buy.

@sevcanbeyo5wth Appreciate that — sold comps over asking prices is the whole foundation, if that part were fudged everything downstream would be worthless. And yeah, the Pass call is the one I get the most pushback on internally, but it's the one that actually saves people money. Glad it's holding up against the other tools you've tried.

Love that it pulls actual sold comps instead of asking prices - that's the one thing most flipper tools get wrong, and it makes your Buy/Pass verdicts actually trustworthy for sourcing decisions.

@ebubekirka42392 That trust piece is the whole bet — if the comps were fudged even a little, the verdicts would be worthless. Thanks for calling that out, means a lot coming from someone actually sourcing inventory.

the sell-through rate metric is such a smart call, since it's the difference between a quick flip and inventory that just sits. Love that it doesn't sugarcoat thin margins either.

@zgrbdjx Appreciate that — sell-through is honestly underrated compared to margin alone. A great margin on something that sits for 6 months isn't a great flip. Glad it's landing.
