I have ulcerative colitis. I spent years trying to figure out what triggered my flares — spreadsheets, Notes app, food diaries that took 20 minutes and lasted 9 days. I'd show up to GI appointments and shrug when asked how I'd been doing.

Hey everyone — I'm Chintan, the founder. I have ulcerative colitis and I built Flarely because nothing else worked for me.
The story is simple: I wanted to understand my triggers. Every tracker I tried was either too tedious, too generic (not built for IBD, some are generic that includes IBS and other gut related health), or wanted my health data in the cloud.
A few things I'm proud of technically:
**AI meal analysis** uses GPT-4o vision. You take a photo of your plate and it breaks down the ingredients, cross-references them against common IBD triggers, and shows FODMAP levels. It's not perfect — no AI is — but it's dramatically better than trying to remember what was in your lunch at 10pm.
**Everything stays on-device.** Health data is stored locally via Apple's frameworks. The only time data leaves your phone is when you opt into AI features — and even then, we send anonymized summaries, not raw health logs. The AI proxy is a stateless Cloudflare Worker that doesn't store anything.
**Pattern detection** looks across food, stress, fasting, and symptoms over time. Some trigger reactions are delayed 24-48 hours — a notebook can't catch that, but consistent data over weeks can.
I'm a solo founder and I use this app every day myself, have been for past few months. Happy to answer any questions about the product, the tech, or living with IBD.
