I used to charge around $99 just to come out and diagnose a problem. As the cost of doing business has gone up—fuel, insurance, tools, labor, and just the cost of living in general—that same service call is now closer to $150, and some companies charge new customers $200 or more just to show up. The thing is, I’d get to plenty of homes where the actual problem was something the homeowner could have handled themselves if they just knew what was wrong. That’s why I built Fixleo. Before you call a contractor, you can describe the problem, upload photos, and let Leo help diagnose what’s happening. Fixleo asks follow-up questions, explains whether the repair is DIY-friendly, shows what a professional repair could cost, tells you what parts and tools you’ll need, and walks you through the repair when it’s safe to do yourself. Diagnosis is free. I’m not building Fixleo to replace contractors. There are plenty of jobs where you absolutely need a professional. I’m building it so homeowners can understand what’s wrong before spending $150–$200 just to find out.
